The Player Haters Ball returns to the Goodgod Danceteria. This time to pay tribute to Dr Dre’s 2001 album. Joyride and his band of merry men gave these gangsta rap classics a pimped out soul reworking, while Levins, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Joyride in DJ mode threw down jam after jam to keep the dancefloor heaving till the early hours of the morning.

Start lining up now, and you might just get in. After a sold out Destiny’s Child tribute, the Player Haters Ball is back. With a line running from the back of Goodgod down the street full of folks desperate to get in to the last party, you would think that the real Destiny’s Child was making an appearance.
It is time again for your favourite R&B Covers night. This Saturday soul outfit Alphamama will be performing two sets. The first a R&B Hit megamix, and the second a tribute to T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli in a TLC cover set.
On the decks keeping the dancefloor heaving will be Levins, Joyride, and Shantan Wantan Ichiban.

Everyone’s favourite prom themed block party is BACK! And this time with a Destiny’s Child Tribute.
After packing out Goodgod with their R KELLY and NEPTUNES Tributes, the Player Hater’s Ball returns with a night playing hommage to the works of DESTINY’S CHILD.
All girl soul band, ALPHAMAMA will be joining them and they’ll be playing two sets ~ The second will be nothing but hits from Beyonce, Kelly and those other girls.
Keeping the dancefloor packed all night with the most luscious of R&B, Hip Hop and Soul selections will be Joyride, Lev Dawg, and Shantan Wantan Ichiban.

There is no way this one will not be massive. After a huge R Kelly Tribute and an equally big xmas ball, this time we are paying homage to the works The Neptunes.
The Accidents, led by the Samoan John Legend, Don Joyride, will perform two sets. The first a mix of covers and originals. The second set will be pure Pharrell and Chad bangers from N*E*R*D* to Usher to Justin Timberlake to Britney and so much more.
Any Neptunes jams missed by The Accidents will definitely be played by Levins, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Joyride when they each serve up some Hip Hop, R&B and Soul goodies on the turntables.
Each of these parties has been a sweaty night of loose dancing and folks getting it on with each other. I don’t expect this one to be any different.

The first one was technically a sell out. Well it would have been if we didn’t keep letting people in. This one should be just as big as our resident R&B coverband Joyride & The Accidents, will be sharing the stage with Alphamama.
We paid tribute to R Kelly at the first ball, this time expect a mix of classic and new R&B jams being performed by these two amazing soul outfits. Oh and maybe a couple of originals thrown in.
That is not all folks. Spinning hip hop and R&B on the night are DJs Levins, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Joyride. You know this is going to be a proper party just before the Christmas break.
It is a Christmas party as well so maybe expect a Destiny’s Child style carol or two, and more drunken random hook ups than even the last one.

I keep hearing about random hook ups that happened at the Player Haters Ball. I think that is the mark of a good party. A very attractive, mixed crowd flocked to Good God Small Club for a night of Joyride and The Accidents playing R&B covers with a couple of originals, while Levins and I spin jams. Technically it was a sell out, but we kept letting people in. A hot, sweaty, drunken night of partying. Here are some photos from around 3:30am.

This jam ain’t for everybody. Only the sexy people. All you fly brothers and sisters, break out your ties and formal dresses for the Player Haters Ball. Playing everything from Marvin Gaye to Jigga will be DJs Levins, Joyride and Shantan Wantan Ichiban.

First set starting at 12 midnight will be a mix of originals and some covers of new and classic soul. Then later a second set of covers of your favourite R. Kelly jams. Yes you heard right an R. KELLY TRIBUTE SET. Ignition, Real Talk, Vibe, Bump N Grind, I’m A Flirt maybe something from Trapped In The Closet… and so much more. Celebrate with us the insane comedy genius that is Kelz.
Best dressed on the night wins a meat tray and is crowned King and Queen of the first Player Haters ball.
