Kween G again in take over mode, while I was overseas. P Smurf of Daily Meds and the Big Village Massive popped by the studio. Not wanting to rap on his lonesome, the Kween dropped a verse or two with Mr Smurf. Watch out!
There is a lot of rapping out there in the world. Lot of noise being made, but not much of it is actually saying anything. As much as I love meaningless rap, occasionally I wonder where all the story telling and opinionated rappers went? Perhaps with the pressure on emcees to produce endless amounts of albums, mixtapes and throw away blog tunes, there comes a point where you have little else you want to express.
Meet Murs (Born Nick Carter in 1978). He is not of this breed. After releasing more albums than Too Short times E-40 to the power of Elvis, he still has tales and opinions to share in his music. It is when you have meet with him, that you realise that what you hear in his music is an extension of his sizable personality.
For the third time, we had the pleasure of chatting to Murs, this time about marriage, Osama, behind the scenes of the ‘Rock The Bells’ tour, and jumping off the stage mid set to kiss Melbourne lady rapper A-Love in the crowd.
Kween G (KillaQueenz) also joined us in the studio as we initated her into the Stolen Records Uber-Thug Family as she prepares to take over the show while I travel to the jungles of Mexico to join Sub Commandant Marcos and his indigenous rebel army.

A little while ago, Shaggy was in the country to celebrate his 42nd birthday. It was a promotion for 42 Below Vodka, where if you e-stalk Shaggy on twitter and mob him in the streets when he checks into locations around Sydney, you could win an invite to his party at Good God.
Now though Shaggy’s performance at the party was a lot of fun, he mostly played other peoples songs, hyped them up, and then got the crowd to sing a few of his tracks. It was a good party, but in the end Shaggy did more actual singing on our radio show than anywhere else in Australia.
You may know the pop star Shaggy, but here you’ll witness an amazing dancehall artist in action.
Getting our groove on with some R&B classics. Spit Syndicate, The Tongue and Don Joyride get their freestyle on. DJ Abilities plays some riggity rap music!

Niceness. It was about a year ago when Adelaide’s Delta and New York’s Mojo the Cinematic (of Dujeous) came by the studio for a little chit chatter and some live freestyles. Total murderation.
We really need an “EXCCLUSSSIVEEEE” drop that we can use for the bombs that The Tongue featured in this show. Hear his new tracks produced by Dizz1 and Hermitude featuring Gift of Gab and Urthboy, which will be released on his new album ‘Alternative Energy’ in September. Hot damn! Also London Dancehall sensation Lady Chann pops by for a very pleasant chit chat about river dancing, stupid men and more, and also performas live. Plus we play a mix of dancehall, reggae and hip hop during this show.

How do you react to racism? Anger, humour or ignoring it? I’ve called somebody a ‘Corey Worthington’ as the only thing I could think of close to being as insulting as a truly racist remark.
We talk with Mirrah and her husband, Zig, about racialism in Australia. One of things she says reminds me of the scene in ‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil‘ where the blind character Richard Pryor is playing discovers he is ‘black’. “Does Dad know?”.
Look out for Mirrah’s new mixtape, ‘Life Love Music’, and let us know your experiences.
