Woah. There are few parties in Sydney where people come to dance like they do at Dutty. Maximum jiggling. Intense booty shaking. Great crowd packed into the sweaty Goodgod Danceteria for a night that feels like authentic Caribbean basement party. Big love for everybody that came down, those competed in our Dance off and our winner – Jess Subbs.

Another instalment of Pineapple Republic went down last Saturday night and again it heaved! A party that has been growing since day one and one of the only spots in Sydney where you get to hear the variety of tunes run to a full dance floor. We hit capacity just after 12 and were faced with the prospect of turning away mega lines of tropical worshippers. Huge vibes the whole night and bigups everyone that came throug!! Kneeeeee Deeep!

Tonight sees the launch of a new bi monthly party called “Knee Deep”, brought to you by 3 chums and a whole heap of special guests.

Set in the Tatler bunker just on the outskirts of the cross, with a killer sound system and a dim lit dance floor. There will be vibes, dance, and drunkeness, as local homies Yelo Magic, Resort Styles and our very own Mike Who go deep on all matter of Boogie, Disco, Future Funk, throwback house and whatever other tangents they and you want, till your feet say yes but your mind says burgers. Happy peeps, cheap drinks, and rolling distance to Oporto.

Only 5 bones before 12 and ten dollars after. Come Dance!

A night of Latin, Caribbean, and Tropical Bass vibes with not even one ‘Gasolina’ request. Mind blowing.

As Tatlers filled up and the temperature rose, it truly felt like a basement party somewhere in the tropics. With DJs Mike Who, Shantan Wantan Ichiban, Sr. Bolivar & Kato playing a fusion of progressive Latin-Caribbean rhythms and Global Club jams you almost never hear in Australia, it was a little surprising how quickly it turned into a real party with vigorous hip shaking in every corner of the small Kings Cross nightspot.

Look out for the next party in April. The Pineapple Republic is awaiting your return, in the meantime you will have to be satisfied with dancing in your bedroom to the following mix by Mike Who…

In the part of town you come for shitty tourist pubs and Korean karaoke, hidden away in the Spanish Quarter of Sydney is Good God Small Club. A venue I frequent regularly, and find myself getting into various types of trouble a little too often. Once La Campana an old Spanish Salsatech/Restaurant, it was taken over by Jimmy Sing and Hana Shimada one year ago. To celebrate they threw three big parties over the long weekend. These are photos from their Bashment Jam with a massive line up including the UK’s biggest dancehall artist Gappy Ranks alongside Hoops, Guerre, Toni Toni Lee, Kween G & Bad Ezzy, Levins, Kato, Huggz, Max Gosford, Firehouse and more. Gappy Ranks totally merked it, despite the fact his DJ didn’t know how to use CDJs or Serato. Fortunately, Mike was there to save the day.

So our homies at Main ingredients have brought back the second installment of their Diggin in the crates parties, with New Zealand’s finest P-Money headlining the night and repping Roc a Fella. It’s a cool concept for a night where dj’s are asked to rep a label. It’s always good fun to dig into the vaults of labels that we all no and love to find the playable jems. I thought it would make sense to rep Tommy boy on the night as i remember always buying doubles of Tommy Boy 12’s pre digital era takeover. Also on the night local boss Dj’s Ology (Rawkus), Toni toni lee (Cash Money), And LinoType (Loud), i heard Lino is getting deported so this may be your last chance to see this super talented LA native do his thing in Sydney. So If your looking for something good to do this this Friday night come to Good God Small club and throw shapes!
