Woah. There are few parties in Sydney where people come to dance like they do at Dutty. Maximum jiggling. Intense booty shaking. Great crowd packed into the sweaty Goodgod Danceteria for a night that feels like authentic Caribbean basement party. Big love for everybody that came down, those competed in our Dance off and our winner – Jess Subbs.
Catch you at the next party. Saturday April 26 at Goodgod Small Club. In the meantime, check out Shantan’s dancehall tape…
Ok so this Mixtape Monday is a history lesson, but it’s a fun histroy lesson that’s not actually that old. Today we’re  revisiting one of the most hyped mixes of 2007, Ruckus Robotics The Music Machine Mix, which was awarded Solid Steels best mix of the Year in 07, which is pretty much the mixtape game equivalent  to winning a Oscar. The mix itself goes everywhere from the Micky Mouse club to Bow Wow and the Avalanches to LCD soudsystem, all laced together with subtle cuts and playful samples to keep things fun and interesting. The mix is ripped from the Beat Oracle radio show on WCRS, so you will here some chit chat and history from Ruckus himself. Big Ups Beat Oracle for making this downloadable and available to the rest of the world. This mix won’t be for everyone, but for those who can appreciate a dj with serious skills and sense of humor, then this is for you. Ruckus Roboticus went on to release an insanely good album “Playing With Scratches” and continues to blow minds with  mixtapes, originals, remixes and edits.
Brenmar’s FACT mix has been on heavy rotation all week, keeping my hype while i pretend to count my non existent pesos. So for anyone that lives under  a rock and isn’t onto the FACT mixes, you need this in your life! Brenmar’s production is always on point and consistently keeps me interested in club music , get learned here. His mixtapes are also super tight. This is a no brainer really, Download play loud and watch people loose their shit.

This Mixtape Mondays goes trap with Chicago production duo Flosstradamus. They have been consistently blowing minds of recent churning out heavy club goodness. I remember playing their laffy taffy and drop the pressure bootlegs  way too much when i first started listening to club stuff. Now they are pretty much the benchmark for  the muched hyped trap sound and this mix is solid. I have to admit i have been sucked into the hype lately and have been wishing i could actually play some of this out without getting weird looks. Anyway get your imaginary gun fingers out shoot some ceilings  and count your change in your living room or workplace.  Stay Trap.
This Mixtape Monday we visit Lord of all lords Mosca’s radio 1 mix from a while back.  Not much to be said that hasn’t already been said about Mosca. Next level producer pushing forward thinking goodness  as well as a a dope genre hopping dj. If you haven’t heard this mix, your monday is now complete and you can thank me later.
In the part of town you come for shitty tourist pubs and Korean karaoke, hidden away in the Spanish Quarter of Sydney is Good God Small Club. A venue I frequent regularly, and find myself getting into various types of trouble a little too often. Once La Campana an old Spanish Salsatech/Restaurant, it was taken over by Jimmy Sing and Hana Shimada one year ago. To celebrate they threw three big parties over the long weekend. These are photos from their Bashment Jam with a massive line up including the UK’s biggest dancehall artist Gappy Ranks alongside Hoops, Guerre, Toni Toni Lee, Kween G & Bad Ezzy, Levins, Kato, Huggz, Max Gosford, Firehouse and more. Gappy Ranks totally merked it, despite the fact his DJ didn’t know how to use CDJs or Serato. Fortunately, Mike was there to save the day.
