Edseven is a super talented Sydney Dj/Producer and good friend of Stolen Records. I thought it was only fitting to post this tidy mix he put together last week.
As a bonus of awsomeness here are a few of Ed’s own Tunes.
If you are not yet formally acquainted allow me to introduce you to Levins and Captain Franco. Levin’s is your favourite DJs, favourite Australian DJ. If not for his musical selections, definitely for his kangaroo burgers and fine hospitality. Meanwhile, Franco is the DJ of choice for all those untouchably, hot hipster girls that look like they fell out of one of your wank fantasies.
Together with the help of Spruce Lee they do a hip hop night called Halfway Crooks. It earns both the disparagement and envy of ‘true school’ hip hop heads. It is one of the few good hip hop parties in Sydney, which is a ‘party’ and there is a possibility you may go home with a female with all her own teeth.
They have started a new podcast called the Hip Hoptimist. It is basically them giving their review of the latest rap albums, and talking copious amounts of shit. Alternatively, I could just hang out at The Dip or Heaps Decent for this sort of conversation, but today I chose to download it. If they cyphered at the end of each of these episodes I would be a regular listener.
Here they give their two cents on Lil Wanye, Ferrari Boyz, Jay-Z & Kanye, and The Games latest works.
Our sample snitching prizes have just been getting better and better. Here our uber-hot producer, Janine models our exclusive, one of a kinda Stolen Records Skrillionaire’s Pendant. Win our weekly pick the sample competition and you could be rocking so much ice it looks like you survived a snow blizzard. Jacob the Jeweler eat your heart out.
Damn! My photoshop skillz are off the chain. I need to start taking design work. So… ah yeah… I do a weekly Sunday party at this fine establishment by the name of Ching-a-lings. It is a nice place for a chilled drink, good music and maybe some light dancing in Sydney. This week it is R&B themed with special guest DJs ANK1A and Wendy Samantha.
Kween G again in take over mode, while I was overseas. P Smurf of Daily Meds and the Big Village Massive popped by the studio. Not wanting to rap on his lonesome, the Kween dropped a verse or two with Mr Smurf. Watch out!
We couldn’t really go wrong with this one. Just Blaze the Megatron Don has got bangers for days. DJ Naiki pays tribute to Justin with another extended sample snitching mix. Hear Naiki mashing up tracks Just Blaze produced with the tracks he sampled. Just BLaazzzeeee!
It’s that time again. Melbourne’s Phrase usually pays us a visit just before he is ready drop a new album. We talk about the new record, Babylon, drunken tales in Tasmania and his marriage to the very talented and really quite fetching Jade Macrae.

Big love to the homies from Well Dressed Vandals for doing me a cover so i can be all legit.

Since when did R&B turn into really bad dance music? Not interested in a night of Fatman Scoop with David Guetta clones? Shiiiittt… seems the only places that you can hear new club R&B and Hip Hop in Sydney is at Snapback, Levin’s sets at Halfway Crooks and DJ Leon Smith playing at strip club/nightspot Bada Bing.
While most R&B DJs are content peddling the same hits each week, Leon is one of the few that is pushing new R&B and Hip Hop. Leon popped in the studio to play a set of tunes that strippers like to get naked too.

So ahh… since one dollar notes went out in Australia, do strippers take coins? Is that why they call it a coin slot? Cha-ching! Get your objectification on.
The Diplomats! Not to be confused with Dipset. Their music is a little bit less about cooking crack and more to do with the deep feelings one experiences during a relationship. Here is a track that was sampled by Grind Music (LV & Sean C) for The Hitmen to create a Busta Rhymes banger.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
U miss me? Yeah I know there has been a big Shantan shaped hole in the heart of Sydney, but I have returned to your radio with a swag of Cumbia, Salsa and other Latin Grooves.
To get it started we also invited one of our favourite DJs to pay tribute to one of our favourite artists. The right honorable DJ Naiki San plays a set of Gil Scott-Heron classics mixed with the Hip Hop artists that sampled him. Rest In Peace!
