A big night of hot, sweaty dancing. If you weren’t there, feat not, because the Player Haters Ball is happening again this Friday. This time Alphamama joins the night for an evening of your favourite R&B covers and some damn good DJs…. Details.
I have memories of listening to Paparazzi on rotation on my walkman sharing a headphone with a mate, while we drank in the park. As a long time fan of Xzibit, it totally took me by suprise when he started working with Dre and Eminem and began to blow up on a more commercial level. Now better know for modifying cars than hip hop, Xzibit recently toured Australia hitting every two horse town on the map. Here are some photos from Sydney.

Check all the other remixes off the Ep here at the Mixpak soundcloud and just because we’re awesome I threw in some chunes of some older goodness from the man himself. Free Cartel.
Stolen Records fam and foreign correspondent Mike Who checking in to share some love from Iquique, Chile. If you didn’t make it to our party and my farewell sauna workout “Badonkadonk” at goodgod, you may not know that i am now living in Chile. Life is good, the people are awsome, weather is nice, and the food is great. It’s a Little odd not having to go to work or wake up for uni but i’m finding unemployment pretty satisfying. I’m going to try and post some tunes on the regular that i come across during travels. But to kick things off i thought i would share some of my favourite tunes from some chileno artits that i have been introduced to and stumbled across over there years.
Me and Carla saw an awesome 12 piece cumbia band of old dudes in matching suits playing Chico Trujillo covers on the beach the other night, and being the fool i am i didn’t have a phone or camera to record the awesomeness.. this film clip will have to do me justice.
Cali got gun play! Salsa on a Monday! Mamis sayin Ichi give me one more dance!
When too much animal print is barely enough!
Parar! Revivir! Sobrevivir!
direct me where ever you want, mami
Towards the end of my trip in Latin America I started to pick up a bit of Spanish, but all round I was pretty pathetic. Even so, I found when you didn’t know the Spanish word for something, you could just add an ‘O’ or an ‘A’ or a ‘ones’ to the end of the English word and you may end up with the right word in Spanish.
¿Cuál es el nombre de este…ah.. musica… umm… artista?
These are some photos from Cali in Colombia. I found it funny that traffic police in Cali are called “Reguladors”. I am easily amused.
The hipsters can have hip hop, I am taking Rock N Roll. It seems like everybody is trying to do hip hop parties in Sydney. The game is over saturated. So while I play rap for people that book me, I am trying to do something different with my nights.
This Friday we have a Rock N Roll and Soul night happening at Hollywood Hotel called Mashed Potato. Watch out Dusty Fingers and Loose Joints. We about to take over. Getting that Rockabilly money.
Shazaming tracks at Jingle Jangles is starting to pay off. Tonight we just played jams from the 50s and 60s. Oh and MK1 came in for a mix, and DJ Dam was on general mixing duties.

I didn’t think they made dirty songs like these in the 1950s. I thought married couples slept in seperate beds and you would get stoned in the town square talking like this.
I am there trying to work out if the ‘Drill Daddy Drill’ song is just innocent, until I hear the line “set up your drill in the middle of my field” and “If the well runs dry we will use another hole”. It reminds me so much of Lil Wayne’s “Miss Officer” and R. Kelly “The Zoo”. Take a bad metaphor and just keep those shamelessly terrible puns coming.
I am going to be playing a set of more XXX 50s Rock jams at our Rock N Roll and Soul party, Mashed Potato, this Friday at Hollywood Hotel. Here are some awkward photos of people dancing by Dear Pluto’s Emma Daniels.

Friends or not, there are a couple of awkward looking dudes that I wouldn’t have invited to my video shoot. Even so, dope song, fresh Indonesian batik shirt and a sweet video from one of the best rappers in Sydney to never release anything.
Mr Clean has been around since the mid 90s when he was rapping with Torcha in Etnik Tribe, and appearing on the first Celcius album as Clockwise. He was like the unsigned hype of the time, however, never seemed to get anything out. It is good to see he has still got that hunger and killing it like never before with some help from Colourd Noyz on production.
Listen: Mr Clean – Hard Yak
Oh and by the way the video was shot by our very own Robin Hearfield
It is International Players II. This time Jigga and Jeezy showing that every thug has a loving side. The Andre verse came out last year sometime. Good to hear they finally finished this track. How good is the Lenny Williams sample?
