The hipsters can have hip hop, I am taking Rock N Roll. It seems like everybody is trying to do hip hop parties in Sydney. The game is over saturated. So while I play rap for people that book me, I am trying to do something different with my nights.
This Friday we have a Rock N Roll and Soul night happening at Hollywood Hotel called Mashed Potato. Watch out Dusty Fingers and Loose Joints. We about to take over. Getting that Rockabilly money.

Friends or not, there are a couple of awkward looking dudes that I wouldn’t have invited to my video shoot. Even so, dope song, fresh Indonesian batik shirt and a sweet video from one of the best rappers in Sydney to never release anything.
Mr Clean has been around since the mid 90s when he was rapping with Torcha in Etnik Tribe, and appearing on the first Celcius album as Clockwise. He was like the unsigned hype of the time, however, never seemed to get anything out. It is good to see he has still got that hunger and killing it like never before with some help from Colourd Noyz on production.

A sad, but happy affair. For more than a year, Mike Who has been putting in work behind the decks on Stolen Records. Bringing such amazing DJ skills, and a fantastic taste and knowledge of hip hop, Caribbean and Latin music. This was his last show before he moves to the north of Chile. Make sure you are at our going away party for him BADONKADONK at GOODGOD on Saturday.
Also we were joined by experimental indie rapper, Busdriver. What is it about The Good Life/Project Blowed rappers? He did one of the best freestyles we had on the show since we had Aceyalone on our show years ago. That scene of rappers originally based around open mic nights at The Good Life cafe has created some amazing emcees with a free flowing style of freestyle. Listen to this for Busdriver spitting on ‘Niggas In Paris’ and ‘Shutterbug’.

As much as she has been lacking in manners the last time or so she came by the studio, Sky’high’s new stuff is pretty nice. For those unacquainted, Sky is semi a representative of the searcher/adlay culture in Sydney. Kinda like our version of a ‘chav’, you will see lads wearing Nike hats and shorts, air max, nautica polos, talking in pig latin and generally being a nuisance.
