I only got there at midnight really unsure what I would find when I opened the doors to that dark burrow buried at the back of Goodgod Small Club. To my surprise I found a packed room and a dancefloor in full swing.
Thumping Caribbean rhythms and so much booty shaking. When the night was done we were picking up discarded bum cheeks dislodged during violent ass moving.
Thanks to the Dance Central crew for an awesome performance, and everybody that jumped in the circle.
Look out for the next party, last Saturday of January 2013.
It never rains it pours. So much happening on this show. Mike Who returns after being in Chile for a year. Spit Syndicate do one of their best live performances on the show to date. We talk rugby and 4 Loko adventures with Smoke Dza, then he totally kills it on a Biggie instrumental. All of this smack bang in the middle of supporter drive.

I’m going on the self indulgent tip this Mixtape Mondays and blogging one of my own tapes. I put this mix up a few days ago and it’s basically me going on a club tangent. It touches on House, Techno, Uk Bass and a bunch of other easter eggs you will have to listen to find. In a way you could consider this my coming home mix. After living in Chile for close to a year, i’m around 2 weeks i’m heading back home to Sydney and i’m hyped to catch up with fam and friends, eat some good food, play some fun parties and spend a summer in Sydney. See errrrbody soon!!
Mike Who Vibes N Tings
Tracklist is on my soundcloud page, which also has a bunch of other tapes and podcasts floating around on it. Cop here…Mike Who
This post is all about me getting a bit nostalgic about growing up and being a certified music nerd. I really just wanted an outlet to post some regular tunes that were significant to me back then, some embarrassing some not so much, non genre specific and i guess a little outlook into some of the stuff i have grown up on and what has maybe shaped some of the stuff i play out and vibe on now. I will try and give a little history on each of the tunes that were no doubt staples on my sisters walkman in primary school or my dodgy not so anti shock discman in high school. I never messed with that futuristic minidisc biz.I will try my best to hit up some friends and foes, other dj’s, producers and champion nerds to get involved on the concept and if all goes well hopefully we can make it a regular thing on the blog with guests breaking down a few of their primary or high school anthems.
Wow this popped up the other day and i lost my shit. Year 9 massive, me and a matey Gus who peeps now may know as Skryptcha used to trade C.D’s in high school and he put me onto Pun, Organized Konfusion, Atmosphere and so many other staples that shaped my tastes for years to come. The Ramon Morris horn line flip gives me shivers every time. This Tune still holds weight today more than 10 years later. Certified Boricua anthem and given the chance you will definitely hear me play this out.
MP3: Roger & Zapp- So Ruff, So Tuff
How is it possible not to freak of this tune, i remember being super young and hearing or seeing this on some strange movie i have no recollection of except this song. I waited till the credits rolled and they have all the songs from the movie, i wrote down every song getting my VCR pause game on. This was Pre Internet days so you couldn’t google shit, it took me a few more years to figure out what it actually was and i freaked when i did. Has been a staple in my crates ever since i started playing out. West coast whip anthem that never fails to get even the stiffest folks nodding their heads.
MP3: Cj Bolland- Suger Is Sweeter (Armand’s Drum And Bass Edit)
Seriously i can’t even remember how old i was when i heard this, maybe 10 or 11 but i remember it being on the wildfm 3 cd and just always having it on repeat because i vibed on it so much. Shameless cheese that I’m sure will turn the nose up of any true UK Garage heads. No doubt this track was big back then, and to see Jackmaster and Oneman on the boileroom live stream drop this to a full tent at the Notting Hill Carnival last year was both mind blowing and nostalgic. Check the footage for yourself. Here
Ok so this Mixtape Monday is a history lesson, but it’s a fun histroy lesson that’s not actually that old. Today we’re revisiting one of the most hyped mixes of 2007, Ruckus Robotics The Music Machine Mix, which was awarded Solid Steels best mix of the Year in 07, which is pretty much the mixtape game equivalent to winning a Oscar. The mix itself goes everywhere from the Micky Mouse club to Bow Wow and the Avalanches to LCD soudsystem, all laced together with subtle cuts and playful samples to keep things fun and interesting. The mix is ripped from the Beat Oracle radio show on WCRS, so you will here some chit chat and history from Ruckus himself. Big Ups Beat Oracle for making this downloadable and available to the rest of the world. This mix won’t be for everyone, but for those who can appreciate a dj with serious skills and sense of humor, then this is for you. Ruckus Roboticus went on to release an insanely good album “Playing With Scratches” and continues to blow minds with mixtapes, originals, remixes and edits.
We get tropical tonight with a bit reggae, latin vibes, a touch of hip hop and a mix from our friend Mike Who?

Earlier in the year I had the chance to venture to the amazing country that is Colombia. Due to our shoestring budget we decided to roll through both Cali and Medellínkind of briefly in the pursuit of both sun and coastal vibes in the north. So after a few overnight buses, which by the way were totally safe and free from any Guerrilla hijackings, we eventually made it to our final destination and a place i am 100% coming back to, the Caribbean Coastline in particular Santa Marta and Cartagena de Indias. Amazing cities, warm and friendly locals, white sand beaches, palm tress, turquoise water and plenty of fresh fish and cheap beers made bunking down in shitty hostels and enjoying a balanced diet of tuna and rice for 4 weeks all worthwhile.
The podcast is rooted in the tropical ritmos originating from the Carribbean coastline of Colombia. Some classic Cumbia, Palenque, and Salsa, with bits of hip hop and digital cumbia from some newer groups making moves throughout Colombia and Latin America . This is by no means anything in depth, just some tunes of Colombian origin i stumbled across during my travels and thought fitting to share. Saludos, Mike Who
So for anyone unfamiliar with the term Twerk my advice is to consulte the most reliable source on the internet for pretty much anything ever the urban dictionary I’ll leave the mystery up to you. But for now here are some choons and a cheeky edit i made to get your twerk on.
Really going to try and make Mixtape Mondays a reality now that i am on regular nightshifts over here. Every Monday i plan to post a new mix i have been feeling, or a nostalgic jem from the past. Freeloads will obviously join in for the fun. Being self indulgent i thought i would kick things off with a new mix i finished a week back for Sydney don Shan Frenzie’s radio show Groove Therapy. I hate this mix because i spent too long finishing it, but you might not. The mix runs through a bunch of different tunes old and new and a few of my own cheeky edits thrown in. Enjoy!
