Wow can’t believe i was so late to jump on this especially considering i have a bunch of homies representing. Amazing peek into some of Sydney’s finest up and coming and established beatmakers. Big love to Well dressed vandals for making it happen. IM stay up. Free download here. Ghetto Ambience Summer 2012
Here are a few other jems from some crew on this compilation.
There is no real reason for this post other than sharing a few tunes that have been on heavy rotation in my household of late. Nothing uber new, just a few tunes that i slept on and have rediscovered recently. Enjoy.
I have known Jeremi Jackson aka Twich for longer than most people in my lifetime. Over the years we have hung out and bumped into each other through mutal friends and one thing has always remained constant, Twich constantly pushing his production, bubbling away in the depths of his studio like a mad professor, his sound getting more and more polished with each new track i hear. I rarely give advice but get to know about this dude, he has already worked with some of the finest from the states and Australian audiences have been sleeping for too long. Download a few jems off Twich’s Synethesia Mixtape and check the two clips below for some homegrown heat produced by the man himself.
I was lucky enough to take a trip to Bolivia over the last 2 weeks, and have now only just started to shake the remnants of a pretty ferkin horrible journey home. Bolivia is an amazingly beautiful country and everyone i met bar too many tourists with hiking boots and bad dreadlocks were awsome people. I managed to check a few cities and have included a bunch of photos taken mostly by my lady who lucky for you takes way better photos than me. To top off this post of greatness i included some tunes that got me through fever induced bus rides, hotel room hallucinations, market lurks, hospital visits, twilight zone salt flats, border crossings and llama meat platters. If you buy me a drank once I’m home I will tell you some extended tales. Enjoy, Mike Who.
Have you ever wondered what River Dance meets Dancehall Reggae sounds like? How about Gaelic Hip Hop? It’s St Paddy’s Day and I thought we would celebrate our Irish heritage with music.
We also get our gangsta boogie on with a massive set of West Coast hip hop. Plus Joyride comes in to perform a Kelis with the Neptunes Cover, ahead of the Player Haters Ball.
This is basically a bunch of awsome photos of Iquique from my Bro over here. To check more of his photos follow here MrTontoJack. . Iquique Is a city in the North of Chile and pretty much my second home. I won’t ramble too much and instead let you check the photos for a slice of this beautiful city nestled in between one of the driest deserts on the planet and the Pacific Ocean.
As you can see from the last two photos there was a fire down the block the other day it was pretty heavy, but luckily nobody was harmed bar a little damage to the local Panaderia.
To add some icing suger to your Churros here are some Summertime jams that have been been getting me through the recent heatwave. Saludos, Mike Who.
There is no way this one will not be massive. After a huge R Kelly Tribute and an equally big xmas ball, this time we are paying homage to the works The Neptunes.
The Accidents, led by the Samoan John Legend, Don Joyride, will perform two sets. The first a mix of covers and originals. The second set will be pure Pharrell and Chad bangers from N*E*R*D* to Usher to Justin Timberlake to Britney and so much more.
Any Neptunes jams missed by The Accidents will definitely be played by Levins, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and Joyride when they each serve up some Hip Hop, R&B and Soul goodies on the turntables.
Each of these parties has been a sweaty night of loose dancing and folks getting it on with each other. I don’t expect this one to be any different.
Here are a few tunes that will definitely get a play.
Overzealous headphone marketing and hype aside i will and always have been a fan of the Dr. When i heard this tidy mix by burlesque design guru and Dj/producer Mike the 2600 memories of water pistol drive byes instantly flooded back. If your a fan of Dre or dig Originals Vs Sampled tapes this is for you.
Originally known as DJ Haircut, Mayer Hawthorne was a little side project that he was working on in his spare time. He never took himself as a serious singer, until one day he showed it to Peanut Butter Wolf and the rest is history.
As amazing as his show was the first time I saw him. I did think Mayer Hawthorne was the sort of artist, whose strength was more in the studio than as a super awesome live singer. How things have changed.
Mayer Hawthorne’s voice has really developed, as has his live show. So good.
