This Mixtape Monday i’m going on the self indulgent tip and posting a mix i just finished myself. Today’s Mix is a follow up to a last years Sucker For Love Volume 1. After a year of procrastinating and thinking about tunes that would make sense, it’s finally done an hour and 20 mins of Love related jams covering everything from Hip Hop, Soul and Funk to New Jack, Garage and Disco and everything in between. Mike Who South America Podcast Vol 2 Chile

So as promised i have come through with my second podcast from the South American Continent. I have been here close to 5 months now so i am actually a month late on this one, but hey i got employed, and also started teaching English classes in the hood. To reedeem my broken promises of bi monthly podcasts i made this one longer. This podcast is heavily rooted in hip hop in which Chile has a massive history, it also touches on, funk, disco, broken beats, tech house and bass music. There was not nearly enough time to touch on cumbia, dancehall, reggae and the more 4×4 based sounds coming out of chile. This podcast was super hard to narrow down. All tunes and production come directly from Chile. This is by no means even a look into the depth Chile’s rich musical history or current output, but merely a snapshot into my crates and tunes i love from Chile. Enjoy and please share with any Chilean fam or friends abroad.

Hostel World

Over the last week i somehow managed talk a hostel owner in chile to give me a job. I don’t really do that much, answer a few phone calls, respond to some emails and talk shit to other tourists about my wealth of knowledge on shoestring travel in South America. Long story short i sit on the internet generally being unproductive. So in the spirit of productivity i’m sharing some tunes that i have been playing too much today.

Mike Who’s Bolivian Death Bed

I was lucky enough to take a trip to Bolivia over the last 2 weeks, and have now only just started to shake the remnants of a pretty ferkin horrible journey home. Bolivia is an amazingly beautiful country and everyone i met bar too many tourists with hiking boots and bad dreadlocks were awsome people. I managed to check a few cities and have included a bunch of photos taken mostly by my lady who lucky for you takes way better photos than me. To top off this post of greatness i included some tunes that got me through fever induced bus rides, hotel room hallucinations, market lurks, hospital visits, twilight zone salt flats, border crossings and llama meat platters. If you buy me a drank once I’m home I will tell you some extended tales. Enjoy, Mike Who.

Mike Who En Iquique Chile

This is basically a bunch of awsome photos of Iquique from my Bro over here. To check more of his photos follow here MrTontoJack. . Iquique Is a city in the North of Chile and pretty much my second home. I won’t ramble too much and instead let you check the photos for a slice of this beautiful city nestled in between one of the driest deserts on the planet and the Pacific Ocean.

As you can see from the last two photos there was a fire down the block the other day it was pretty heavy, but luckily nobody was harmed bar a little damage to the local Panaderia.

Kurtis Blow – The Breaks (Dublex Inc Edit)

This tour marks the 30^th anniversary tour of “THE BREAKS” and is the first time in over ten years since Kurtis has thrown down in Australia. Also on the night is the supremely talented duo Paper Plane Project doing their thing LIVE. Dj duties see’s Sydney Dons on the wheels; Gian Arpino, Naiki, Kato and myself.
