This mixtape Mondays we revisit a set from a while back from Mayer Hawthorne aka Dj Haircut at L.A’s much hyped Do over party. Let’s hope their weren’t too many chumps tweeting or texting emoticons while he was rolling through these tunes. Plenty of disco, funk, boogie, 80’s golden era rap classics and inappropriate OH SNAP drops to enjoy this monday.
So for anyone unfamiliar with the term Twerk my advice is to consulte the most reliable source on the internet for pretty much anything ever the urban dictionary I’ll leave the mystery up to you. But for now here are some choons and a cheeky edit i made to get your twerk on.
This Mixtape Mondays goes trap with Chicago production duo Flosstradamus. They have been consistently blowing minds of recent churning out heavy club goodness. I remember playing their laffy taffy and drop the pressure bootlegs way too much when i first started listening to club stuff. Now they are pretty much the benchmark for the muched hyped trap sound and this mix is solid. I have to admit i have been sucked into the hype lately and have been wishing i could actually play some of this out without getting weird looks. Anyway get your imaginary gun fingers out shoot some ceilings and count your change in your living room or workplace. Stay Trap.
This Mixtape Monday we visit Lord of all lords Mosca’s radio 1 mix from a while back. Not much to be said that hasn’t already been said about Mosca. Next level producer pushing forward thinking goodness as well as a a dope genre hopping dj. If you haven’t heard this mix, your monday is now complete and you can thank me later.
I’m bored at work so here are some freeloads i have been feeling, annoying people with and playing too much lately. Wish i could play stuff like this out over here, tried the other day and cleared the dancefloor instantly. Woo, cool story.
This Monday we check in for a big big mix of Uk Digital Dancehall and Reggae heat from Riddim Tuffa Sound packed full of exclusive dub plates and classics. I stumbled across this mix recently while attempting an unsuccessful itunes cleanup. London vibes galore. Download and get your monday skank on.

This Mixtape Monday were going on an interglatic journey with Sydney homies Joey The Saint aka man of a million aliases and Bad Jackson aka Badfield one half of the wedding ring fingers. Aka’s out of the way these dudes have put together a tasty mix of all things Funk, Disco and cosmic goodness for there upcoming night at GoodGod, on the 25th called Mary’s Basement. More info Herrrr..MARY’S BASEMENT.. Wish i was in sydney for this night cause i’m sure it will be killer, go get freaky in the dark corners of GoodGod small club for me.
So as promised i have come through with my second podcast from the South American Continent. I have been here close to 5 months now so i am actually a month late on this one, but hey i got employed, and also started teaching English classes in the hood. To reedeem my broken promises of bi monthly podcasts i made this one longer. This podcast is heavily rooted in hip hop in which Chile has a massive history, it also touches on, funk, disco, broken beats, tech house and bass music. There was not nearly enough time to touch on cumbia, dancehall, reggae and the more 4×4 based sounds coming out of chile. This podcast was super hard to narrow down. All tunes and production come directly from Chile. This is by no means even a look into the depth Chile’s rich musical history or current output, but merely a snapshot into my crates and tunes i love from Chile. Enjoy and please share with any Chilean fam or friends abroad.
Saludos, Mike Who.
Today Mixtape Mondays gets a little nostalgic. I decided to post Dj Moto’s Club Joint 3.5 all the way back from 1999. Moto recently put this up on his page and memories flooded back. First things first before 90’s/2000’s Rnb/hip hop anthem sets were staple in every sydney club and before fools with popped collars requested “old school music”, Moto and the club joint fam did this all, over ten years before with wax and more flare and skills than the majority of sydney dj’s would dream of having. Even though in high school i was nerding out on golden era 90’s boom bap these tapes blew me away and jiggy was inescapable back then. I remember stealing the club joint cd’s from my sisters older friends cars and trying to figure out how they rocked doubles. I also remember all the lawsuits with the club joint mix c.d’s and how they built their brand off those tapes. I’m sure purists will hate but but anyone that can make tapes with Beyonce/Ras kass/ Mariah and Nore in the same ten mins work have my props. These dudes all had/ still have serious skills and played good tunes as well as jiggy stuff. Download this, go to Moto’s page and look for any other club joint tapes while your at it. Respect.

Some Freeloads because i’m nostalgic and generous.
Mixtape mondays week 2, i didn’t flake out. It was kind of a no brainer for me to take one of Paul Nice’s tapes for this week. He has been one of my biggest influences for years. Immaculate taste in music, skills to boot and killer production. I am still angry at myself for missing him spin at O-ii-shi all those years back. I have listened to most of his tapes and can safely say they are all jems. This 70 mins of soul soaked goodness should make your monday just that little bit more bearable.
